Ignitions busted out of my new 88 ranger and I want to just setup a toggle switch for the ignition and a push button for the starter.

My question is what do I need to do? I'm not familiar with the steering column at all. Any helpful pointers is welcomed!

No, seriously, take out the two security Torx screws, and use a screw driver.

I have the diagrams to tell you how to hook that up, but I'll need a bit to figure out the exact wiring.

It starts with a screwdriver, but what I mean is I don't want to do that every time. I wanna flip a switch to turn the ignition in and then hit a button for the starter. I know how to wore the button though, that's easy.

And BTW, Adsm, the wiring harness worked flawlessly. Still gotta get on a comp and do the feedback deelio!

Cool. Glad to hear that it got you running.

Still haven't figured this out. anybody done this before or know what I need to do?

Just guessing;
Use a volt/ohm meter to test the wires from the screwdriver "key" switch in all positions.
Push button start wires will be the same as wires found hot in start position.
Toggle switch will be the same as hot wires in run position.
You could ad an extra toggle for accessory, but I don't know if it's needed to protect anything or not.
I'm going to be doing the same to a truck that I lost the keys to.
