As far as i can tell im pretty sure the problem is somewhere in the ignition. Well first of all sometimes when i start my truck up it idles at a real low rpm then shuts off. Then when i restart the truck it idles a little rough then straightens out to normal. Also at times when i step on it to pass someone it feels like something is holding the truck back. This never happend before until about a month ago. I replaced the distributor cap&rotor, plugs, and wires all at the end of last summer. If anyone has any idea if its the coil or something else in the ignition please let me know.

ditto for the TFI or ignition module.

check the vacuum ports in the upper intake for carbon build up crusting over. If it is real bad might be better to remove the whole upper intake and give it a good cleaning.

what about the fuel and air filters? when were they last serviced?

getting fuel pressure readings would be good to as well as getting codes

Check the fuel filter. This happened to me with a chevy 1500 and we replaced everything that could be related to it but it turned out to be the fuel filter. (After 3 weeks of working on it).
