Does the ignition module on Fords normally go out all at once or can it sporadically fire and slowly die? THANKS!!

C...all of the above.
they can show signs...but they can just puke

most parts stores today will test these for free...but one needs to take them off and bring them in. be sure they run the test several times.

Ive had them go both ways, the one on my F150 gave some warning, it bucked and hesitated for a lil while before it quit.

When the one on the Ranger went out it just died, like someone shut the key off.

Also, when you replace it, make sure that you put a good coating of dielectric grese on the metal side, the most common failure is when the grese melts off over time and it heats the electroincs up inside.

Dustin

AND spend the money on a good brand...like motorcraft.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'm not sure it's the firing that's giving me the problem, just covering all the bases. I've had 2 go out in my lifetime of GM products and they all went out all at once after I had shut it off. The last time really paid off as it happened on a date and we had to wait 2 hours for her sister to come get us so it was time well spent:yahoo:
