I took out the ignition cylinder so that i could replace a broken shift tube. No problem getting it out. Now big problem. It won't go back in. Appears to line up correctly, but no go.

Try spinning the key in the cylinder. The key has to be in the same position it was when the cylinder came out.

is the lock (the part that turns in the bottom of the cylinder hole in the correct position, after the tube replacement ?

ADSM ?? I only know Chevys at this point, but I would assume Off or ACC for the cylinder removal,re-install ????

They need to be in the run position to remove/install them

The cylinder goes in part way. It stops where the "paddle" on the end of the cylinder that turns the ignition switch won't slide into the slot in the switch.

Wonder of a production change I know PITA, but can you verify both mating outside of colluum ? (MAJOR PITA.........)

I've got it now. It was a little out of alignment. Thanks all
