If there's air in clutch master cylinder, are symptoms consistent?

Sort of a tangent to another thread where my slave cylinder *may* be on dying (jury is still out), my question has to do with the symptoms of possible air in the master clutch cylinder at the pedal.

*IF* there is air in the master, will the behavior be consistent where my clutch disengagement will always be partial, or can it act in a way such that sometimes I get a partial disengagement and other times I get a full disengagement?

Also, how often does a master possibly fail where the seals start letting air in, i.e. where the pushrod enters the cylinder?

Thanks!

Ah, never mind. I just did a full bench bleed like the Perfection Clutch video, got the <1/8" pushrod in the master, connected it all up, gravity bled the slave and still got the damn creep and hard-to-get-into-gear symptoms. It's off to the service garage for a new clutch system... :-(
