My credo
Shit Happens...Then You Die.
I've stated that I'd never buy another new vehicle but I may reconsider, If Only, Ford would step things up, a little. I enjoy my Ranger...perfect size, fairly well built and not to expensive to repair or maintain.

My only actual complaints are lousy, hard, uncomfortable seats and a wimpy, but sturdy engine.
Where is innovation and caring about the consumer?
Where are the "clean diesels" or the "SHO" type engines? Where are the 4 door Rangers that we wish we had?

Just like most of us....we dream on......

im thinking its cause the "sho" motor is a 5kish option. the 4door ranger is 22k truck. most people arent gonna buy a 27k small truck when you can get an f150 for 21k. and 28kish for the close HP ratings and you havent even blown the motor yet.

but i like your thinking. but i get stuck in the things that the ranger doesnt have like "car seat" useable back seats.....and the taco can be supercharged and still keep the warrenty. ford needs to catch up

hummmmmm twin turboed 4.0L and a real back seat.......i need a towel:icon_idea:

I am not sure Ford thinks a full 4 door is too much money. Nissan, Dodge, GM and even Toyota sell plenty of 4 door trucks. The public buys them. Hell, people even bought the Subaru Baja for a while and that is ugly as ****.

see they might actually have kept with the compact truck innovations if they cared to keep the ranger around. I almost wish they had closed down the plant and stopped production cause now with the sad amount of options it seems it is more of a hassle to keep it around and they are just saying "well just to keep you happy but we arent spending money to keep it cool, but check out this sweet f-150!". I heard they might have a new truck, bigger than the ranger but smaller than the f-150, a new f-100.

I guess I'll just be happy with a sore ass! A guy can always dream...

If you are unhappy with the seats...just change them for some good buckets form another manufacturer. There are a lot of good baja type seats. I am still planning on doing this to my 60/40 seats. I would love some bucket seats that are recliners and great on the butt.....

I love the 60/40 benches. I wish mine had those but alas, it's for sale now.

There are also a lot of nice buckets in other Ford vehicles that fit Ranger tracks very nicely. I have a set of Explorer seats in my Ranger and I love 'em.

Go comb a junk yard to two near you, find some nice seats.

Waah! No junk yards within 120 miles. You'd think that a fat ass would cushion things but it just isn't so. I am not a big fan of the F150. I bought a 2004 Heritage model and it was so poorly built it was embarrassing. The bed was even put on crooked.

I always thought it would be neat to have a Heritage edition. Ending of an era. I love my '02, not a Ranger built I would trade it for.

They must not be losing too many sales of the crew cab option, the only truck that outsells them is the Tacoma. Even with a 12 year old running gear they still outsell the rest.

It's misleading. Fleet sales makes those numbers. Bare bones 4 cylinder models with nearly zero profit.

They are the number one parts delivery truck in the US.
