Hi,

I've noticed a weird issues on my 94 Mazda B3000 3.0L. If I stall my truck within the first 10 minutes in the morning it generally won't start for at least 5 minutes. I'll sit there and it will crank over and over but won't start up. I usually will just wait it out and keep trying until eventually I can get it to start again. Its not a huge problem since its rare that I stall the truck but I've just found this to be strange and wondered if anyone had any ideas why this happens? Only happens on cold starts (almost always first start of the day). Any thoughts?

ive noticed this problem in many older fords. my truck does it to a point (usually only takes 15-30 seconds of cranking if i stall it. wharas normally, it fires on the first crank revolution). ive never been able to come up with a reason for this behavior...i just try not to stall the truck :dunno:

I just searched and saw another post about this so sorry to be redundant but it was answered there.

Thanks for the reply Wicked. I guess its good to know it happens to other people but I'm so curious why? Anyone else have a clue? Your right, its not a big deal and I always make sure I don't stall it anymore.

you think it might be flooding, cause in the first ten min. its still in cold mode, and putting more fuel in kinda like a choke. and when it stalls it gets more gas then normal, and never gets to use it. so you try and start it again, it then again give it more fuel then normal and causes it to flood.:dunno:

ive considered that, but with any fuel injected ford vehicle, you can tell the computer to cut the injectors back by flooring the gas pedal while you crank the motor. ive tried this on mine during the no-start condition and it didnt seem to effect the starting time. ive also never had any fuel smell associated with the no-start condition...so i really dont think thats it.

hmmm thats the only think i can really come up with at 5 oclock in da morning

cause it will half do that on my truck if i try and turn it on and let it go to fast. when i turn it over again it kinda stumbles for a sec (3 or 4) then starts up.

:dunno::annoyed:

i had the same trouble in my 92, except it would start eventually. kinda like wicks it would usually start by just bumping the starter except when i stalled it first thing in the morning. others who have this problem say putting the pedal on the floor while cranking after this happens helps... other than that dunno what to tell you.

maybe its your trucks way of laughing at you for stalling.
