The truck run's fine the rest of the time.
However, recently (past week) when I start it for the first time on any day it idles rough.
When I put it in reverse to pull out the idle will shoot down and then it will shutoff. (not if I put some gas in and go backwards a little bit quickly)
If it shut's off after putting it in reverse then it will take a while to start and attempt to start but seems like it's not getting enough gas to start possibly?
It will start after holding down the starter a few times.

More recently (2-3 days) it will do the trouble starting thing without me shifting into reverse. I haven't had it where it doesn't start but it does trouble me to have to hold the starter down for awhile and/or multiple times. (usually about 3-4 if it happens)

Usually if I warm it up for a little bit then it is fine.
Seem's a little strange for a 98 2.5L to need warmed up (especially since it's been a warm winter...usually around 50 degrees)

Fuel injector's? Fuel pump?

Anyone else have a similar problem?

you should pull your idle air control valve off and clean it out. if you were to put it in drive would it stall also or only in reverse
