what RPMS should my 88 ranger be idling at?

I read 800 rpm...not sure what mine is but if you don't have a tach it should be just above the point where it starts to shake.
You can adjust that slightly though moving the distributor...counterclockwise generally increases rpm and vice versa for clockwise...
