im thinking about a real working ram air for my truck if i keep her. im thinking that if i was to cut the stock intake elbow and turned it so that it faced up and cut a hole in my hood for it to poke through and got one of those conicle air filters to connect to it and put together some kind of hood scoop to cover it from rain that i should improve my mileage and maby gain a little power if im lucky. i dont care about looks honestly only results

topic was covered a while back and the general thought is that its very little gain Vs the work put in as a true ram air works at high speed aka higher then the ranger can ever do.

Ram air is good for one thing, and it's not ram air.

(its drag)

i was just thinking that the air outside my hood is much cooler than the air under my hood, plus i think it would be unique and im in a pretty redneck area so it wouldnt really stick out if i did it

leave ram air setups for vehicles they belong on. your ranger is not something ram air belongs on. its not worth the time, effort, or money youd put into it.

Plus your stock intake is mounted behind the grille, so you are already getting nice cold outside air.
