i want to get a new tranny

i wanna do some work to my truck. its a 99 ranger 2wd, 3.0 liter, automatic. and stay with an automatic tranny. i wanna kno what tranny i can get that fits my truck and increases the performance. and kinda hold up to a lil more power. your help would be great.

the only bolt-on upgrade is a 5 speed. anything else is going to require quite a bit of fabrication work.
