I think the 99 has a torsion bar,if so crank it up first and see how you like that (its free to do that) and maybe live with 32" tires.if you do not intend to wheel much 32's with some nice 15x8's should work fine-there should be many pics and examples on here,AND WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!

If you go 3.0, make sure it is a manual. Get every last bit of power you can.
Or get a 86-90 Ranger with a 2.9 and manual. Stock they get 22+ highway. I averaged about 20 mpg driving to PA, to and from school and back to NJ. Probably could have done it on one tank if I knew how much there was in it. I did not baby it either.
