I want a 8.8 LSD.

a buddy of mine has an 8.8 LSD 31 Spline.

I have a 1999 Mazda B3000 4WD.
How would I do the swap? is it possible/compatible? I've hear dof people having issues doing it.

It's possible and been done. Swap center section but needs custom 31 spline axles with the smaller 28 spline Ranger outboard bearing.

is it the entire axle, or just the differential carrier?

what rear axle do you have now? 7.5 or 8.8?
