yeah the foreign jobs get the option of "roll bars". but i believe they are bedrail mounted. sorta like the avalanches and the old skool dakotas

I was in Bunbury, just south of Perth, in about '79. I was on the Charles F. Adams (DDG-2). The carrier went to Perth. It was a really great time the people, especially the women, liked Us Americans.

It's been quite awhile back, but I think it was the CVN-68. I went to the Persian Gulf twice. First ont the Claude V. Ricketts (DDG-5), then on the Adams. We did alot of unreps so most likely if you were there we were steaming along side loading up. Also went to Diego Garica, was called the a$$hole of the world then. We were along side a tender.
I loked up a pic of your ship and it looks kinda familiar. Glad to see some other swabbies on here. Are you a shellback or a lowly pollywog?

Naw, we were out of Jacksonville,FL., 6th Fleet. We did mostly Med and Carribeanian cruises.

i am a shellback since indian ocean cruise in 1976,ist tour on afs-4.

i remember your ship and diego garcia.the tender i believe was samuel gompers,but not sure.

we made 4 cruises to the io and persian gulf from 79-81 and we gave away cargo the reloaded in diego garcia as fast as they could fly it in from clarke on c-5 and c-147 transports.

i also served on ff-1067 in 74-76,dd-966 in 81-83.tin can sailor too.
