I think i hsve a big problem.

I doubt a TOB would do that.

The FMs have a pan, I would drop that and look around inside before going too far. If you don't see anything obvious pull it and look farther. If it's broke, go find an M5OD.

^^^ what is?

Sorry guys I've been out of town for work. The trans is a manual its a fm146 don't know much about them. My buddy told me it might be a throw out bearing failure.

like i said...depending o where your from...and the when your from was not so long ago....post starwars even....the original post sounded like a manual trans description.

the tod and srod are to manuals what the early a4ld and 700r/aod were to automatics.

3 speed with overdrive, or 4 speed with overdrive were the normal terms to describe a manual trans.

everyone is familiar with "granny gear" or "creeper gear" transmissions....but the proper term for a 435 would be 3 speed with underdrive.

those transmissions were necessary because untill the turn of the century a pickup truck never had 400 ft pounds to work with from the factory with a gasoline engine and with no good overdrives needed 308-350 gears.

so i guess i read it right the first time:D
