i think i broke something!

I've got a whole dana 35 out of a 92 explorer that i ran in my b2 for a few years. 3.73 gears, warn manual hubs, tie rods and radius arms included.

the axle is an all-or-nothing deal though. i could probably ship it, but it would cost more than the axle. i live in Bono, AR 72416 (outside jonesboro).

the d35 is very capable as well if built right. i just want to get away from the ttb steering.

It is honestly easier to set up TTB steering that works than do a solid axle swap and set up the steering on that. Keep in mind you still have the entire steering linkage to put together, plus a track bar.

i know, i've thought about that. to get me going again and able to wheel im going to throw in a 35 while i collect d44 parts.

how much did you pay for it?

$90 rotor to rotor, driveshaft, radius arms, steering linkage, and hubs.

Tony, I have been looking for some arms. If you dont get rid of those keep me in mind.

i found a good deal here locally for a d35 and a 8.8 for 125. im gonna shoot for those.

Thats a really good price. I would buy them just to have spares at that price.

yea its a pretty good deal.

im about to go pull the driver side apart to see what i can find.

so far on the driver side i found that the top of the coil was almost popped all the way out of the bucket. i had a feeling it would be. i was going to put one of those J shaped retainer things on there anyways. Took my hub apart and found that the outer wheel bearing is shot.

after i snapped the pic i turned the coil more to make it sit flush in the bucket and rattle caned everything black.

well, replaced the bearing and still heard some rubbing. checked the play in the back wheels and its fine but i did find what was screwin with me the past few days. the pass side leaf pack was spreading apart and the very bottom leaf was rubbing the tire. that would explain the burning rubber smell. jacked it up moved everything around put it all back together and everythings workin good again.

Glad to hear. Still gonna do the swap?
