I really need to vent...

we all know howie is an idiot, i have a couple buddies that both have superduty's with the step and the step is awesome. my grandpa has drove chevys since the 30's and just bought his first superduty, not cause of the step gate but because Ford is way ahead of the other big 2 when it comes to heavier trucks today. when howie talks just replace his words with; "I'm an idiot" repeat until you change the channel or it's over.

You're right. Mike Rowe's a MUCH better spokesperson.

I wonder when Ford will make a "Dirty Jobs" edition F-series? Maybe w/ a "septic tank" air freshener?

I used to work on the septic edition every once in a while :icon_rofl:

I used to sing "She thinks my Vactor's sexy" :D

I bet the people w knee probs appreciate it, I know I would. Its a lot better then tryin to crawl into one and lookin silly, or jumpin out of one when u've had a broken tailbone. It was a great idea on Fords part. Remember, we aren't getting any youn ger or skinnier

My boss has a chevy dually you can't reach into the side, and It's hell to get in and out you flop your upper body across the tailgate, and the drag your fat@$$ in.

His cousin has the F-250 edition with the step...... and you can actually get in and out.
But his tires are those wrangler things stock, and aren't worth a dang, He gets hung up almost everyday and has had 2 blowouts in under 15k miles.

I like Mike Rowe as a spokesman for Ford. I really like it when they display the F-150 toughness by slinging it around in a circle by the tow hooks. Or stop a C-130 by the F-150 alone. The way I see Chevy vs Ford. Ford is more towards the customers needs and Chevy is more for the customers wants. If you want a truck to drive get you from point A to point B and be all cozy for the ride. Then get a Chevy. If you need a truck to hual, tow, and work for you. Then get a Ford. And if I had my pick, I would get a Ford. Not only are they better built trucks, but it would piss off my dad thats pro-Chevy and make my Uncle proud.

I wonder when they'll start making fun of Ford for making the best selling trucks for 32 years running

or make fun of them for sellin more truck than they have over the years

It's true about ground clearance. To change the oil on my Dad's 2008 Z71 crew cab 4x4 (company truck, don't worry - He'd never waste his money on one) required jacking the truck up about 4" just to have adequate room to get to the drain plug and oil filter. The air dam on the front bumper sits literally 5" off the ground. And this is on the almighty Z-71 off-road package!

On the other hand, my measly 20 year-old 2wd 4-banger Ranger you can slide right underneath to change the oil without needing a jack.

Oh, and the oil filter on the 'ole 110 HP Ranger 4-bangers are 3x the size of the oil filter on the almighty chevy 5.3L V8.

It's my opinion, based on experience, that a Ranger is 2x the truck a newer Chevy half ton is. Which is sad, because back in the day (pre-1998), GM made a pretty decent truck.

Mighty 5.3? that's the first time I've ever seen those two words together...... ever. they are dogs.

You are getting worked up for nothing.

Chevys don't need the steps because they're already low enough to the ground that my decrepit grandmother could get in and out of the bed with ease.

Fords are a lot higher stock.

Hell, the tailgate of my ranger is higher up than my dad's z71... and my ranger has much more clearance too.

my thoughts exactly.

My F-150 towered over 99% of vehicles on the road when it was bone stock, much less after I leveled the front end and put 33's on it. I've never measured it, but I would be surprised if it was less than 4" taller than my buddies 4x4 Chevy.

Only in the eyes of a chevy truck fanatic. I was making fun of them with that statement. But I agree with you, that thing was totally unimpressive.

In the spirit of fairness, the f-150 engines don't impress anyone either.

I want a raptor so bad. You'd need a ladder to get in and out of it daily lol
