That's true as well. But then again neither does the Hemi or the crap available from nissan or toyota (well I should say "was available" in the tundra because toyota has decided they're not safe to sell as they've put a selling freeze on them because of the throttle linkage recall...)
The last full size truck engine to impress me was the EFI 4.9L / 300 C.I straight six available in the F-150/250/350 from 1987-1996. They get better real world fuel economy than anything available from anybody in a full size right now and tow just as big a trailer as any of the gassers out now (I've done it with mine so don't try to argue!

The only new fullsize out now that I think is worth owning would be an F-250 Regular Cab, Long Bed, 4x4, with the 6.8L V10 and the 6-spd manual. Those long-stroke modular V-10s make excellent towing motors stock from Ford. Too bad the dang things go for $30,000 for a stripped down truck.
