My brother has a '91 Explorer 2wd with an auto, the engine was replaced with a very good running j/yard engine app. 2 years ago & the trans. shifts good.....The entire AC system was replaced at the beginning of this season!!
Long story short, the rest of the truck is just plain worn out & he wants to scrap it, I have access to everything before it goes!!!!
What I have to work with using the Explorer parts:
1- '84 B2 4wd, 2.8 rebuilt with less than 30k, 5 spd trans
2- '85 B2 4wd, 2.8 that needs rebuilt, good auto trans
3- '64 International p/u 2wd, stock 4 cyl that hasn't ran in app. 25 yrs, no trans (originally had a manual)
I'm thinking...
1- put the good '84 engine in the '85, the 4.0 in my '84, then (later on)either try to get the International running or find a different engine & trans
or:
2- keep the '84 engine in the '84, put the 4.0 & trans in the International (I assume that would be a PITA), & fix or replace the engine in the '85 later on.....
If you're not confused by now, what would you do?????
