I need help

I have a 07 ford ranger and my hi beam indicator light is not working so i pulled the dash apart to find that the bulb is in perfect condition. So now im at a loss of how to test the multifunction switch, everything else works as normal but the indicator light.

if the high beams still work fine, dont worry bout it. prolly more work than its worth

thats what i thought but im pretty sure in new york state it has to work or you fail inspection

The bulb looked in perfect condition. Did you try swapping bulbs around? I have seen bulbs that looked good but weren't.

I'm not sure if it's the same as my 94's but the bulb socket can be removed. It's possible that the socket is bad or a loose wire. I know it sucks to take the dash apart but if you need the light for inspection I'd look into these possibilities.

i swapped bulbs and everything and the bulb worked fine so im gonna try and go through the wiring tomorrow if the weather permits

Do you have DRL by chance? I know some US models have them. In my 99 I had the same problem...no hi beam indicator, but the lights worked fine...I pulled the module to check and sure enough, it started working....so I replace the module. Just a thought?

no drl's but thankfully i found the problem. a stupid loose connection on the back of the gauge cluster .. thanks for all of your suggestions guys
