my 2001 sohc is popping a PO113 code for Intake Air Temp Circuit High...whats this mean parts wise and how do i fix it cause its causing my engine to idle higher than normal on startup and when its not in a drive gear

If you have six wires running to the MAF sensor, it is built in it. If only four, you have a separate IAT sensor just downstream of the MAF.

Check for loose grounds, then replace as necessary.

ive got 6 so do i need to replace the MAF?

Most likely....the best way to confirm this is to hook up a scanner to your truck and watch the live data as your truck runs. Your intake temps shouldnt be too much higher than ambient temp.

you should try cleaning the maf(it is part of maintance). buy the can of maf cleaner $6 and do exactly as can says....clean it, cold let it dry, don't touch it...it is also could be know as an "air charge sensor"

on a cold engine well fairly cold i drove 4 miles to the orilley my buddy works at. it registered 147 degrees for the intake air temp. ill try plugging in a new mass air flow and see what that does. i sprayed cleaner in there but didnt take it out of the intake tube. should i try cleaning it again out of the housing?

Obviously, cleaning the MAF would be the first thing to try. The best way is to remove it, as it cleans it more thorough.

If your truck was in fact cold and not up to full operating temp your incoming air shouldn't be 150 degrees unless of course its 90+ degrees ambient temp.

If you have access to another MAF you can swap them out and see if it changes. Let us know the results.

best friend works at the parts store so he'll just pull one off the shelf test it on my truck and throw it back in the box if it dont work. im gonna try that first and see what happens
