On the transmission, make sure the fill plug comes out before you do anything. Once it comes out, drain the fluid. On your transmission (Mitsubishi FM-145?), I believe you drop the pan to do that. I've only changed fluid in M5ODs which have drain plugs and no pan, so someone else can confirm the proper way to drain a Mitsu or Toyo Kogyo . Once the old fluid is drained, just fill it up until oil comes out of the fill hole.

On the front axle, you will need to use a suction gun to get the old fluid out, then just fill until it comes out of the fill hole. On the rear, unbolt the inspection cover, spray the gears with brake parts cleaner, put the cover back on with either black RTV or a gasket and fill it up. If you use RTV, let it set for an hour or so before you fill the diff if you can. Again, check the fill plugs before doing anything to make sure they come out.

As for MPG, there is no telling on an old truck. Expect anywhere from 14 MPG to 24 MPG depending on the truck's condition and the way you drive.

there is a big drain plug right in the center of the FM pans, if the fill plug is seized in there you can remove the shifter and pour it down that way. I'm counting down until 9 am tomorrow when I can remove my fm146 and install my M5OD

nope, trans takes gear oil, tcase takes ATF

ok thanks that right i think soem one said that in an earlier repy

the no oil pressure could just be a bad connection or gauge, why didn't someone think of this already. or did i just miss it?

there should be two fuel filters on it. a normal canister type and the cartridge type. the canister one is farther up towards the engine and the cartridge is right by the external fuel pump on the frame rail. alot of ppl usually just take the cartridge type out and use only the metal canister one but i still have both on mine
