i need a color code

i have a 1991 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 v6, i need some touch up paint to fix a few nicks and dings so i was gonna have a body shop mix me some color match paint, but i need to know the color code for this color ranger( same as mine but not my truck)

To verify your code look at the decal on the driver's door. Lower left corner will have the word BODY. Right above it is a 2 letter code.

Look here. It has all the Ford colors.

my decal says VP but i dont see that listed as a choice.

it says ax exterior, wp and the body it says VP

It's kind of weird how they did the diagram. It looks like it should be listed under it, but it's actually to the right. Like this:

Do you by chance have a picture you could post of your sticker?

You could also call the parts department at the dealer, give them your VIN number, and they will be able to give you your paint code.

i just tried our paint code look-up that we use at our bodyshop and ford does not hav a VP code.

Good idea, I hopped on sherwin williams site (thats what we use at work unfortunately), and I found 2 colors that sound like they should be the ones...either AW (medium sandlewood metallic), or AX (light sandlewood metallic). Obviously I may not be right, because 1: I can't pull the color chips at home, and 2: I don't have your truck sitting right here.

If its a solid color (not metallic), than it could be AY.

I'm just going by the picture you posted, so this isn't quite an exact science lol.

Make sure your door wasnt replaced also. Go by dash VIN.
