I had to do some other work to my truck this weekend so I decided to do the mod to convert the 60/40 seats into buckets with a console. I also added a new stereo with in dash GPS and DVD player. All in all, I think it came out nice.

i certainly hope those speakers arent the duals from walmart that have the lights in them, if they are you will be buying speakers very shortly due to their weak cones that always seem to come in contact with the magnet

They are the neon lighted speakers from Walmart. So far, I have had them in approx. 2 months with no issues. I tend to play the stereo loud too. If I do have a problem though, Walmart has the best return policy around.

yeah true i have had bad experiances with them, i hope they work for ya, each speaker is different

Yup. I'll just have to see how they do in the long run. So far though they have been great. And, I get an eerie glow when I go get tacos at night. :)

Now, I just need to get a new tailgate and have it painted. I'm going with a picture of the Grim Reaper and the lettering "Cheatin' Death"

see the glow is what i loved about them, i wish other companies made them cause that is just so damn cool looking when its dark isnt it?? especially when you have them mounted in the rear of an X-cab its awesome, my friend had them in his and it was cool

I talked to my wife about going with the blue neon under the truck too, but she made me realize that would be going over the top.

I looked at other threads on here about building a console from scratch, but I found this one at Walmart and it fits perfectly.

I think you could get the same neon effect on other speakers by mounting neon lights on the inside of the grills.

I'm gonna have to look around. I want to do the same thing in my car now also but I don't want to change out perfectly good speakers.

yeah, speakers do get expensive after a while, im still waiting for my stock ones to bust, they keep up with the sub surprsingly well, i always thought ford made really good stock sound systems speaker wise
