I love this site, the rangerstation is the ultimate source of information for you truck. When I had some front end troubles and couldn't figure it out...well I posted the question and got some great ideas and it got fixed. When I did my Shackle flip I didnt have one question, because there was so much info. I've learned so much about my truck, because of all of the other members experience, and when for FORD tried all that Bull***t I sent an E-Mail ranting and raving. So I just want to say i'm glad to be part of this group.

Anyway this next comment is of controversy...SWAY BAR. Well after all the debate and questions I decided to the only way to know for sure is to take it off and find out... So I took it off about a week ago. I found that really there is not that much difference on the highway, just a little more body roll, but I took it offroad last night and man what a difference! I had a smoother ride on the trail, and it was way more flexy, just wanted to go over anything. I also took it through this sand trench where it was having trouble before, and last night the truck handled it like champ.

So all in all my opinion the benefits of taking your sway bar off out weighs the disadvantages. I mean you can say your gonna drive like s**t on the highway, but...your driving a ranger not a porsche!

let me know what you think. :icon_thumby:

Sway bar--a device that can work well installed or in the shed hangin on a big nail:icon_rofl: Edit: Yep, ain't it great:headbang::icon_rofl:. The Taliban would come around to our way of thinkin if they found this site!:icon_rofl:

I really think it comes down to how you drive your truck and what you expect from it. My 96 is dropped 5/6 and has helwig bars front and rear. It handles like a dream, better then most cars I have been in. My 95 is stock with new coils and shocks up front and it doesn't even come close to the 96. Lane changes at speed are much different and almost a little scary depending on speed. I'll take my bars front and rear!

i believe the new jeep rubicons or a jeep products have switches in the cabs that can disconnect the sway bar i would like to get that and put it on my ranger!!

AMEN my lowered brother - I have the stock bars, but since she is dropped and has the lower center of gravity, I have more use out of them than when it was stock height. And those lane changes are scary if you forget how quick it will go. Not as scary as the wifes S2000 though :icon_surprised:
