i know im gonna sound like an idiot

My list of things to do on your truck would be:

-check air filter
-check spark plug gap
-replace fuel filter
-replace cat. converters (a single aftermarket hi-flow replacement is sufficient) and if you have the $$$ go to a full 2.5" exhaust

Seafoam wouldn't hurt, and neither would a good (Lucas is the brand I use) injector cleaner.

thanks, im gonna do some of that probably tomorrow, what if i ran no cats with a muffler right off the manifold? it would be loud, but who cares lol should i do that? or go with a hi-flow and if so what brand is best?

Before that whole can of worms gets opened, run the hi-flow cat and a muffler. There's a lot of $$$ that could be spent on exhaust parts, it's generally you get what you pay for. If your buying online look for name brands like magnaflow/flowmaster etc, if your buying somewhere local (many parts stores carry them) check the contruction between a few different ones, some are made very cheaply.

alright ill get one should i look for a 2.5" one and just run 2.5" all the way? and im gonna do a new intake, fuel filter gap the spark plugs, and sea foam it this weekend and maybe the cat too, and i need to look into o2 sensors

I'd run 2.5" from the Y pipe back. Get it done and less us know how it goes!

I agree a full tune up should do it wonders with the performance, maybe try cleaning the MAF I had an issue with mine and a good cleaning will do wonders. You should be able to kill those tires, my truck has 320,000 miles with the original cats in it. Its a 5 speed with 3:27 gears with 33" Goodyear MTRs and I can smoke them better than my dads Z3

alright, i should be getting most of it done this weekend :icon_thumby:
ive cleaned my MAF sensor before but i have the 3.8 one, i bought my truck from pwrranger88 about a year ago, but im gonna pick up all of the parts and get them in saturday, im still trying to find time to put my 4" lift in haha

alright so yesterday i ran seafoam into the truck half a can in the tank the other have through the booster line and it seems more responsive on the way home about a 30 minute ride and when i was close i got the tires to break loose a little better so thats good, im still gonna get an air filter though, but should i go back to the stock box?

I see no need to, just get a good quality filter and go from there. The full tune up wouldn't hurt either.

haha i knew you would post on this, and i knew that you did that when you went to napa lol but yeah im trying to go to a factory intake, i will soon dont worry and i like how my truck is still your picture lol

Premium grade fuel?? I have the same setup you have, with the exception of the worn-out tires :icon_twisted: (3.73 limited slip, 94 super cab) and it will break traction if my foot turns to lead.... also I have a LUK clutch in it so nothing fancy.

tune her up and practice your launches. because i can smoke the tires on the 03 2.3 my mom drives, and even my 2.5 with 30" tires lol, both 3.73 geared and 5 speed.

the 4.0 should have no issues roasting the tires through first and second, i know the 2.9s will....i say in addition to needing a tuneup among another things it may be driver error lol

word here too. 99 4.0L in a XLT extended cab ranger with limited slip... i can light them up on dry pavement with an automatic, and if there is any kind of moisture on the roads i have to be REALLY careful not to spin the backend out while im driving through the city.
