My buddy is looking to get a new car. Right now he's got a but ass ugly 1991 Mazda 323.

I could get it for way cheap. Strong engine, tranny needs rebuild, exterrior needs going over, fender replaced, interrior smells like sex.

What about a little buggy project?

Maybe a Dana30 up front, Ford 8.8 Rear?

Maybe long travel shtuff?

4.0/M5OD/BW1354 swap?

Tube Chassis / cage?

Here it is, check out this poser flex!

Hmmmmm..... :stirthepot:

Oh my god. Either that is the stupidest idea ever, or the beginnings of something great. A lot of fab is in your future. That car is front wheel drive....oh god...good luck if you go through with that. I kinda hope your joking, lol.

Aren't you supposed to backup farther and use those as a jump?

Oh Christ, we HAVE to get that picture in the 2009 TRS calendar!!!

Lol

Yeah dude, I think that would be too much work for it to be worth it, you oughtta at least get a cool car to do it with, like an AMC Eagle :icon_welder:

yeah but think of the oportunity to outwheel someone in a crappy 323... That would be worth the effort right there.

Thats the kind of response I wanted?

Isn't there no greater feeling then looking up that mountain, locking in your hubs, and saying "It's On Bitch!"

The fun is in the challenge.

And I wouldn't bling it out like a "Donk" tryin to fit 22" rims lol

And the low cost would be nice.

I've already worked on his car before and I know it pretty well.

We'll see how this turns out

Every one is stuck in a "If it's not bolt on, **** it!" mind set.

What would make this so much more different then converting a 2wd Ranger into a 4x4. It can be done! (Mike, chime in any time!)

Or swaping a solid axle into a 98+ Ranger?

Part time low transfer case (depending on the tranny)
Dana30 Front
Ford 8.8 Rear
Custom shafts
Shit tons of frame reinforcement

Hell, I've still got the 4 link from my ZJ along with stock coils.... hmmmm

Prepare to be out wheeled by a hatch back!!!

This was the "mood" I was trying to instill in my post above...

Hell ya, if you got the time, patience and knowhow, do it!

And post pics.

AJ

I don't see why not, it would definity be unique. I read an off-road mag and have seen an old Charger, a Lincoln Towncar and an old Beetle turned into 4x4s. If you know how then it would be pretty cool. Do something different.

Kick ass! Support!

I've still got a ways to go on my Heep before I start any real build.

I also have a Waggy44 that might end up in the Ranger soon

take a road trip and buy my 7.5 for it :P
