Someone once tried to get it through my thick head that a "Rear Sump" off of a truck engine would NOT work. But, I had to find out for myself.
The Rear Sump --- doesn't work!
The "Dual Sump" from a Fox body Mustang, a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis and as Baddad says:
I wanted the dipstick in the pan, and the low oil level sensor. So, I modified the dual sump to satisfy what I wanted.

You can pay an arm and a leg -- or you can go to your local junkyard and pick up the pan, the pickup, and probably the dipstick for around $50.Also came on the T-Bird/Cougar, Lincoln Mark VII, Town car, Fairmont, Zephyr, Capri. In short EVERY Ford, Lincoln or Merc car beginning in 1980, with the exception of the 1980Granada/Monarch. This pan with the dipstick in the pan was used for a couple of years starting in 1979 in the Mustang.
