ok, so i replaced my alt. battery and terminal connections and it still hasnt fixed the problem. my battery gauge is still reading low and wont charge and when i stomp it, the engine wants to almost seize up and shut off. the gauges go crazy all the dash lights come on and go back off and the engine comes right back on and everything goes back to normal... it feels like its missing almost? idk im so confused.
any ideas?

Highly suspect a missing or broken ground. Try to run a heavy gauge wire from the alternator housing to the battery ground.

On our 89' there is a 'hidden' ground wire at the rear cylinder head drivers side. It was so easy to miss...and pinch off while doing work on it. Might have a similar issue where a ground wire is broken, sheered, or rusted off.

Bend all the cables end to end looking for weak spots somtimes the wire corrodes under the insulation and looks just fine +1 on the alternator batt neg upgrade especially in colder climates and if your running alot of accys. Larger guage battery cables are allways better.

we just had 6 or 7 inches of snow dumped on us over night so ill work on it when i can free up the garage. thanks for the input guys, ill let you know how it turns out.
