I have had a bad week

You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will let you know how it goes hey 85_ranger 4x4 im 30 mile from you in Riverton

Exactly, my main concern is finding out what year motor mount/frame brackets will work so when I head to the junkyard thats 80 miles away in my 8mpg 472C.I. suburban to scavenge parts I know what to look for and what issues are there stang/thunderchicken serpentine brackets hitting the steering box
Do you have to pass emissions there. If so you may want check with them if you can do that downgrade and pass the visual.

As long as it doesn't smoke too bad or rattle the neighbor's windows nobody cares.

No emission or safety inspections in Iowa,Thats why I moved from California to here. California did not like my hot-rod attitude

Well if they are using mustang mounts turned around then that tells me the frame brackets should be at the correct angle as mustangs all used the same k member from 79-93.
I have done some research and the t5 yoke will fit the ranger drive shaft using the stock ranger u joint so I am going to swap it over and shove the 2.3 in the bay insert the yoke where it should be in the trans and see where everything lays as far as front mounts are concerned

I would not mind the motor sitting a few inches forward from the stock ranger location so my stang serpentine setup can be used with out gear box interference as I noticed the ranger power steering pump sits higher on the motor to clear the box.

The reason I want to use the stang accessory brackets is because if you remove the alternator the m51 blower sits almost perfectly in the area from where the alternator was and will bolt to the factory lower intake manifold with a few simple mods.
If any one in my area is in need of a good running 4.0 ill make them a heck of a deal on it.

As far as the fuel system I have decided to use the stang computer and wiring harness and graft into the ranger harness until i can afford a mega squirt to get around the rev limiter.

As far as the clutch hook up issue I have found a new aftermarket clutch master in my spare parts box and since the t5 uses a bell crank to reverse the direction of pull i will use a Tilton pull style clutch slave. This way I can make a bracket that uses the engine to transmission bolts to attach it and dont have to drill the bell housing. Steel braided lines are cheap at speedway motors so that part should be able to be done for around a 100 bucks.

I should know more in a few days wish me luck

BTW Does have a repair manual in pdf form that covers a 94. If not does someone have an electronic copy of the wiring diagram

Thanks

THE BAD WEEK CONTINUES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got laid off this am from a job i had been at for 5 years, funny how that happens when your boss finds out your diabetic . so I cam home and decided to cut the trans tunnel so i could get the shifter rails out of truck to see what happened. Not a drop of oil in trans ( before ya blame me i only have owned the truck for two weeks) . the trans is not seized but it is stuck in forth gear. I put all the forks in neutral and the main shaft is spinning the same speed as the output shaft with the rear wheels raised.Doe the m5r1 have a habit of doing this and if so does it usually weld the pocket bearings to the shafts???

Its amazing how plans change along the course of a project things change. I ended up buying a parts ranger in Demoines that was trying its damnest to pitch a rod. I ended up doing a junk yard pull on its trans, switched out tires as this one only had 400 miles on them, kept the battery and hauled it off to u pull it in Omaha and after gas i had 17 dollars more in my pocket then before I bought the parts truck. ( now if only all my deals would go like that!!!!!).

then the fun started.
Id first like to say to the engineer at Ford that thought it would be a good idea to run the crossover between the trans and the radius rod cross member (PUT DOWN YOUR PENCIL AND PICK UP A WRENCH SO THAT YOU HAVE TO FIX THE SAME STUFF YOU DESIGN.)

After 225,000 miles exhaust manifold bolts have a tendency to gall in place as we all know so after 3 hours of fighting it to get enough clearance I did the only other logical choice I could think off and unbolted the 6 cab mounts and lifted the body up about 5 inches.

Worked sweet.
in and out in no time and since I saved some money, i have a 289 on a stand that needs a home...............hummmmmm
