I got bored, I bought a Flitz Ball

Ok this has moved from polishing a door panel to making homemade explosives, this is NOT acceptable discussion at TRS. Besides, that discussion is all behavior the Department of Homeland Security loves to investigate.

Posts removed - do not bring them back up. Keep this on topic or thread will be deleted.

BTW the door panels look great - I used one of those on some aluminum rims - sweeeeeeet.

:icon_rofl: yeah, sorry bout that. I was thinkin about it and it probably wasn't the best thing to post even if it was intended to be humorous.

however, i seriously doubt the mentioning of napalm would bring DHS down on TRS, but who knows with this admin. :dunno:

I am a Hazardous Materials Instructor - we are constantly searching for new material so we can train our responders accordingly and low and behold the men in black show up at our office - just because of a search.

I sometimes wonder who is watching me because of former
employment at several chemical compaines, etc...

I can think of several nasty things that can be created (accidentially)
with finely divided aluminum...

what were you searching for? was it on the computer? just seems bizarre to me that "they" would show up at all considering you're probably affilitated with a larger company that deals with these things on a fairly regular basis. Did they ID themselves?

BTW, I always wondered how the flitz ball worked. looks pretty good. I was thinking of starting a thread for product reviews and/or homemade versions of store bought products.

Let's just say it had to do with chemical reactions and the chemicals availability locally :shok:. It actually happened to a co-worker and afterward we were never questioned again since the information was for training responders.
My company responds to these incidents for our clients such as DEA, Railroads, refineries and many others.

A product review would be great on something like this and other "homemade" products - but please add advice on safety or caution where needed. :icon_thumby:

me and one of my old high school teachers was looking up how to make homemade missles once nothing happen and that was on a school computer.. but i go to a website with a half naked girl in a pop up and withing 5 mins im in the office haha ..

im sorry i dont want to rock the boat but i look that stuff up all the time, and one from any AP high school chem class, knows what do to, and i have plenty of catologs to get stuff from and i have never even got a guilty feeling let alone men in black at my door.

you hear about that mess in PA? 33,000 lbs of hydroflouric acid dumped on the highway right down the road from my buddy. thats gonna be a bitch to clean up.:annoyed:

ok my other post wasn't about making explosives......it was about how to turn linseed oil into a metal polish.

this isn't exactly what i said. I love how it was edited.

Yes it will be, when did that occur? Haven't heard of it yet . . . I was on a HF incident in West Texas that lasted a week and closed 51 miles of highway.

I looked it up and although they took the proper precautions it was not that bad of an incident. Could have been worse though.
