Spent the day on my back changing my fubar transmission. I used to be able to bench press those things back into place, now it's all I can do to work the handle for the trans jack.

Sheesh!:nopityA::nopityA:

I here ya, I recently moved and thought the same thing.Everything seemed to have gotten a lot heavier.

There is a tool for everything theses days.....thank God my main tool still works!:headbang:

I cleaned up the yard today and felt similar. I'm not even old.

Age is a state of mind...if you've aged well you won't mind me stating that...

Sometimes I feel old...especially after a good physical workout and one too many beers to celebrate...I have been moving stuff today and only felt a bit winded when I carried the rebuilt head upstairs...they only weigh about 100 lbs, but I can remember when lifting one wasn't a problem...and I have lifted an entire 2.3 engine onto the back of my truck...and off again...

Maybe they use heavier metal on them now...I don't know...

Wait until you are 40...that's when the big roller coaster starts. You'll hit big highs and big lows. Then, at 50...the roller coaster doesn't go up anymore. You start a big, long ride straight to hell. I can't wait for 60. :(

Tell me about it. Every day I ask ... Where did all that energy go? I remember Saturday evening prepping the dirt bikes to go muddin' on Sunday and getting to bed about 11 pm. Then getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning on Sunday depending where we were going and hitting the road. Spend all day bashing the body about on the trails. loading up, and the 4 hour ride back home. Grab a hot shower hit the rack and be up and on the job at 7 am on Monday. Don't think I could even attempt that now.:bawling:

I am 37. I've noticed energy now comes in spurts. I spent the morning yesterday trying to fix my Brothers Escape. That wiped me out, but mostly mentally. Then a couple hours later I was downstairs changing out some laundry and hear "drip". I looked up and saw the cold water pipe going to the kitchen sink had another drip forming. Soooo, I went upstairs and found the cabinet saturated because the last metal piece in the sewer piping had a hole in it. So I converted it all to ABS. Being under the sink really turns me into a.contortionist - so I am feeling it this morning. Also, while I was under there, my wife said "as long as you are working on the plumbing, will you clean out the pea trap in the bathroom?". Lots of hair finds it's way in the sink when you have 3 daughters.

I just did another A/C rebuild on my Ranger today. I could have sorren it took over half a day to do, instead it took 4 hours to do. And thats with me working outside, no coat, in 30*F sunny weather. Yep, you guys are getting old.

I feel like its a big mind thing sometimes...age. I've still got plenty of energy and am Nowhere near "old" but when I turned 20 I thought to myself "what the ****? I'll never be a teenager again...where did the years go."

I work with a 68 year old guy, soon to be 69 in december and finally retire. I shit you not, if anyone were to try and guess his age they'd say Mid 50s. Not sure how he kept in such great shape.

What the young do with strength and agility, theo old do with treachery and deceit. :D I put in the M50 with a milk crate and a bunch of 2 bys, Took awhile , but I could rock the tranny and add blocks to raise it 1 1/2 " per rock. No lifting involved.

Yup, there's nothin' like that magical day somewhere between 35 and 45 when you look in the mirror and notice your arse has flat disappeared...then you notice it has taken up residency over your...uh, favorite tool. Nature compensates...after that you have a shed over your tools for life...you sleep with more confidence 'cause most of the tough stuff is behind you, worry not 'cause you've been down that road many times and know it will work out somehow, and you can really laugh your arse off when some young buck says..."Hey, hold my beer and watch this." It all balances out.
