It has a 7.7 and it needs a stronger diff for all the jumping im doing. I want to get an 8.8 with posi trac. I am currently running 32's, what would be the ideal gear ratio for the 32's, 4.10's, 4.56's? Should I run a locker instead of the posi? What years are compatible for my 2002? :dntknw:

8.8" to replace your 7.5"?
Anything from '93-current will fit.

What engine you have?

Edit N/M, I see 2.3L

4.56 or 4.88 would be the ratio you want (4.88 if you ever go to 33s).

IF you are jumping you should really consider using an explorer axle.

they use larger diameter axle shafts (at the BEARING) where it's more important.

But are usually refered to by the larger diameter at the splines that engage the differential... 31-spline.

the explorer axle is basically an F-150 axle witha ranger bolt pattern
and it's more or less the correct width for a ranger.
(it's about an inch wider than your '99's stock axle)

Installing an explorer axle requires some welding and minor fabrication
(spring and shck mounts)

Jumping breaks stuff.

Bigger pieces of metal is usually the best response.

To be honest the 8.8" RANGER axle isn't any stronger than the 7.5"
in the way you are battering your axle.

A Ranger 8.8" uses the same axle tubes and axle shafts as your current 7.5" axle.

OTOH the explorer axle tubes are also larger.
