:icon_twisted: drained oil& water... and mud from oil pan. pulled all intake down to fule rail.Upper intake fulll of mud.rinced with water... what should i use to cleen parts without damaging gaskets, seals, and sensors??? should i pull lower mani &heads, or just reinstall mani & throttle body; pull plugs and turn over. How about the valve covers. I have air compresser and made an evac system but not sure if thats good enough...:icon_confused::icon_confused:

ALSO... what about the gas? she went down to the pass. door handle. slightly deeper in front. only to door on driver side.
PLease give me youre opinions.

When you say MUD in the intake and oil pan... You scared the hell out of me! Was it mine I'd pull it completely apart and clean her butt with great care.. Water only is ok to deal with, but when MUD gets into the engine it all must come out...not just most of it! All of it!
For the fuel tank I'd be taking the line loose under the hood and turning the pump on with a container to catch about a gallon of what ever comes out of the loosened hose. If ANY water comes out in the first gallon, I'd be pulling the tank and cleaning it inside and then drying it out while I worked on the engine.
Might be best to just find a JR engine and swap it out.

Don't forget to service both axles and transfer case, all have vents and can fill with water. You don't say what trans you have but if it is an automatic you need to get the water out YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!! The glue that holds the clutch material to the plates is water soluble and will fail soon.

Had to make a choice...

Well I cleaned and dried and reinstalled the from the intake up. pulled the plugs and let her fly. Got my pops in the face,haha,... ran vac to 1 inch hose and let suck till dry. no mud or sand in cylinders; I think. Gotta check gas and finish front dif and autotrans. Hopefully ready to fire tomorow;"trust in god and luck..." then gotta put interior back together and start buildin' a snorkle.
will update tomorow:icon_welder:

Don't forget to clean the mass air sensor "if it's not already toast" Best to replace it since it sucked alot of water & mud through it, That alone will give you major running issues IF! you get it running.

Been there ... Done that!

Instead of putting it back together I would have pulled that engine out. Chances are if the upper intake was caked with mud it sucked that shit down into the cylinders. Sediments from the mud could tear that thing up.

good to go

:yahoo::icon_hornsup::headbang::icon_thumby::icon_welder:Got goin.... WOOOOHOOOO. still gotta do front diff. trani was dry somehow;Better check my vent huh. t-case was NAAAHASTY.FLUSHED AND EVACT it twice and ill do it again this weekend when I change oil again. gas is good. spent hours flushing and evac cylinders with diesel. runs perrfect. mud wash stoped my tick to.that or all the cleaning.
Finaly i can get some rest. thank god, I,m beat.

THANX 4 ALL THE GREAT ADVICE!!

i wonder how i havent hydro locked mine lol knock on wood

sweeeeeet

well i took her on the road today. Other than the fowl smell of burning $#!%...
runs perfect so far.hope it stays that way. Tanx agian 4 advise. Sorry if my posts are a mess. I dont type well at all, "IM NEW".

Oooo bad idea.
I hydrolocked my 4.0, cleaned it up and drove it.
Didn't work out so well. The mud ate at my main/crank bearings, which cause a huge loss of oil pressure. I had 15lbs at idle and just under 25lbs at 3K rpm(as seen in pic)
Best of luck. I suggest you start looking for an engine.

i have about 10=15 at idle but 45-55 at 3000 [depending on temp]

YAHA 600 MILES and counting went wheelin saturday. oil pressure good no issues at all
lotta hard work payed off.GLAD I DIDNT CHANGE MY ENGINE. You couldnt possibley get any more mudd in the crankcase and cylinders than i did and i got it all out and running better than before do to the intake and valve cleaning. thanks again for opinions
