I was thinking to buy an K@N COLD AIR INTAKE. is it worth it to buy it and installed? Anyone here having one installed on a ford ranger? I have a `04 ranger 4x4, 4.0 liter engine.
Is there any danger having a cold air intake driving in the rain to damage the engine? Would water have a chance to go in the engine and ruin it ?
THANK YOU GUYS!!
P.S

any answer is welcome !

Your Ranger came from the factory with a cold air intake! The one you are speaking of actually causes HOT air to be injested by the engine. The filter you have now will take out more and smaller particles of dirt than the K&N one.
A lot of guys run them... but at the risk of more wear and worse milage... DEFINATELY not more power!

thank you ....!!! thinking cold, reading your opinion, taking a look under the hood, all i can say , you are right !!!!
thanks again !

Haha yeah... people here seem to think that this should be common knowledge that cold air intakes suck (a bunch of hot air.) :D

Well at only 4 posts he's new so no biggie. If you want K&N just go with a stock replacement unit. It's less expensive and the advantage is you buy it only once. Just clean it as needed or go with other "washable" brands. :icon_thumby:
