I was on the stinger performance website last night and saw they had a mustang running an HX35 turbo. Would it be posible to run an HX35 on a DD ranger build? I've got one in my shop and it was just rebuilt.

Yeah.

I run the HE351 on my DD. As long as you have a turbo ready bottom end, it's not a problem. You just dont get boost til the far end of 3000 rpm.

boosting that late can allow youto keep out of the gas while chaseing errans in town and give you the juice when you want it! i have a hx35 for my build...i have a lot of things to get yet....

Awesome! I have a N/A engine, but am in the process of building it to withstand the boost. Where is the best place to find forged internals?

These are some pricy options, but will handle anything you throw at them.

Bo-Port <--- link

Has some excellent products, his cams are probably the best out there for the 2.3 turbo.

This guy also carries a lot of good quality 2.3 turbo stuff.

You can also go with Diamond pistons like I did, or Wiseco. I personally stayed away from the wisecos because their dish does not match the combustion chamber like the OE design. Quench area is important to me. Also they are rumored to be thinner, and I didn't like the idea of less beefy pistons.

If you want to go cheap, just get some stock pistons from a turbocoupe or xr4ti and do a re-ring job. The less you bore this engine the better, it has thin cylinder walls.

I went with crower sportsman rods because the stockers get iffy at about 400 rwhp or anything above 7k, and I didn't ever want to have to worry about my bottom end.

ARP head studs are not necessary, head bolts work fine, but I got tired of replacing head bolts every time the head came off or I blew a HG.
