My credo
Fix it till its broke!
Not to big a deal down I Texas, but my ac only blows cold when the knob is turned all the way to the left (blue). Any movement and it quits. It blows cold beautifully but I have no temp adjustment, just kind of annoying on days I don't need it to be that cold, and especially when it vibrates and moved a tad since I have to reach over and move it left again. Any idea why? Other than that it blows as it should and I can control the fan speed fine...

Damn no idea?

You are going to have to help yourself figure this out.

Ford used two different schemes for blend door operation on our Rangers.

One uses a mechanical linkage cable directly to the blend door actuator (visible when you pop open the glovebox door past its open stops - squeeze the door sides to fully open it.

The other is an electrical actuator fed from the temp control knob. This is likely what you have, based on the symptom. I would guess that the HVAC control knob potentiometer is bad, but it could be the actuator at the blend door. I'd grab an actuator and HVAC panel from the junkyard and try that control panel first. Be careful with the vacuum tubes!

Cool so the temp control is just the blend door adjusting correct? If I just need a new panel I can do that. Hell I might even convince the wife to get a new one just so she isn't cold all the time. If it doesn't work I'll just return it.

And for the record I love helping people on this forum and learning. I just wanted someone to chime in with advice or ideas that's all.
