I ordered my hurst shifter today but i also want to order a carbon fiber shifter knob for it instead of the stock hurst knob.

What size threads does the hurst shifter have. Will a "universal" shift knob fit the shifter?

One knob I've found mentioned 8,10, and 12 mm adaptors. Will any of these fit?

the size is 3/8-16 (s.a.e.) not sure how close it is to any metric size. you will need a adaptor to use anything else, some aftermarket knobs come with adaptors. i made a adaptor for a internationol truck knob by welding 2 bolts back-to-back, than using a 3/8-16 all-thread connector to join the "adaptor" to the hurst stick.

Go hurst T-Grip shifter man their the best! i put one on mine and i love it to death except when its cold outside then you need gloves cause its all aluminum!

ive got a hurst "T" handle, it has 1/2-20 threads, going to make a adaptor for it from a old lug stud. wont use it in winter though. what i have now is a stock knob from a '82 escort automatic, just like the shape and the way it feels. its basically the same knob used on the '88 mustang, just doesnt have a shift pattern on the knob. dont really need one, i know where my gears are.

Oh alright, well I may have to get creative then.

I wanted a carbon fiber one cuz my radio dash is carbon fiber. The carbon fiber comes stock on the Mazda's

I wanted to get a few carbon fiber pieces in to match. I was also thinking some nice aftermarket carbon fiber pedals.

Not too much, just some touches.

I'll look into that T-handle too tho, thanks for the tips!

i got one of these too! the JB weld broke so now it just sit there and spins. make it nice in the winter, just take the keys and shifter inside. no cold hands for me!
