i have a 2wd 94 ranger and i just got done replacing upper and lower ball joints on both sides and the outer and inner tie rods on both sides and put in 2 degree camber bushings on both sides. after i got done i read about doing my own alignment and i adjusted my camber on both sides to 0.5 degrees (used an angle finder on the rims and not the tires. then i stretched a string parallel to the back tires and adjusted my toe. then i stretched a tape measure across the front of the front tire then measured between the back of the front tire and i was dead on. after i was done i took the truck down the road and it handles great now, but while i was driving i was swerving left and right just making sure everything was ok and when i go left i get a humming noise until i straighten up the wheel and go strait. Do you think it may be the alignment i done or bad wheel bearings? i wouldnt think it would be the bearings cause it was fine before i changed everything. i didnt take the rotor off of the control arm, i left it all intact. I am open to any ideas, thanks guys, i do appreciate it!

Drive the truck forward on level concrete.....put it in PARK (whatever)....stand in front of the truck about 15 feet away and "eyeball the wheels" to see if they actually look straight....if they look O.K.......go home & check for loose/worn wheel bearings or brake lines rubbing on tires anyway.....

thank you sir, i will try it out today. I didnt even think of looking at the brake line, then again, thats why i came here to get opinions, LOL!

it's a rare occurance...but it happened to my ftruck.....

Factory specs for the toe-in is 1/32 to 1/16th of an inch.

If they're dead on straight, then they'll be slightly toed-as your truck pushes forward.

Also, what tires are you driving on?

the tires are just street tires, 195-70 r14, i think, or somewhere close to that. i wouldnt think it would be the tires though because it didnt make the sound until i replaced everything. I havent had the time to mess with the truck in a few days, so i am about to go out there now and do some tinkering with it and remeasure everything to make sure all is good. if all is good i am going tomorrow to put new tires on and we will see what kind of difference that makes

Check your power steering fluid too, fords are notorious for this. Could just be a coincidence but you never know.
