I'm wondering if anyone has used hub centric rings on their Ranger...I just got in my brand new wheels Pro Comp Series 98 soft 8's..15x8, 3.75 BS, 5 on 4.5, well..when I opened one of the boxes and checked them out I noticed the center bore was larger than the hub on my 97 2WD! I really want to keep these wheels, so I did some researching and found info on hub centric rings, basically they are rings that fit around your wheel hub and fill up the gap making your wheel fit correctly. They seem to come in some kind of hard plastic and I also see them in machined metal, I'm assuming the metal ones are better?

My concern is where to purchase them besides online....are these readily available at tire shops? I'd rather get them in person with one of my wheels so I can fit them on the spot to see they fit correctly. I'm new to these items...anyone that's had experience with them? Thanks in advance!

Your ranger is lug centric...not hub centric. You are fine to run the wheels as is.

What's the difference between the two...I was under the impression that I would be getting vibration running them as is...I'm all for running them the way they are, just don't want to have problems....

correction. The stock wheels are lug centric.

The axle doesnt have alot to do with it. Its the rim that determines lug or hub centric.

However the rims you bought ARE lug centric wheels. You will be fine.
