How's the Hurricane on the East Coast?

Someone was just telling me "They say on the local news that storm is "missing us" to the south" and I asked them, "Ok, so we don't have tooth-marks from the Mack Bulldog hood ornament, but what about the rest of the truck?"

THE first thing to do in avoiding most kinds of "unpleasant weather events"
is all about geography. "Location, Location & Location"

If you don't live near an ocean Hurricanes cease being more than a large rain storm.

nothing here, it didnt rain in raleigh until this morning. just cloudy all weekend. my grandparents got lots of rain down east though. looks like the outer banks got nailed again, as would be expected. i dont feel bad for them, they choose to live out there. hopefully it gets the hell out of here and yall fellers up north dont get it too bad

The Weather Channel is saying something about low tide.....then in a couple hours high tide....

I hope they're wrong about that inch per hour rain!

were getting a bit of wind nothing major yet, supposed to get more intense tomorrow and have gusts up to 60 mph

Nothing more than a gusty rain storm here. A few down trees, and lost power for an hour or so but that's nothing new.

I've been camping in worse conditions than this.

Well, we barely got an inch of rain where I'm at. Couple trees down, but no power outages.

Powers out everywhere around here. I drove up to check on the shop. 35 miles and not a single light. Trees and lines down everywhere. I havent had power since 8 last night.

Good to hear that TRS members are O.K....

Same here, but still no work today. My dispatcher left me a message this morning saying don't come in until 11, about 10 min ago I was about to leave and the foreman called and said don't bother coming in, we have no parts and no work.

The last JERK that I worked for demanded that we go to work the next day after the hurricane & wait in the shop for the electricity to come back on! We waited from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m......then he sent us home....power came back on an hour later..... ;missingteeth;

I hope he got his money's worth!

Eh, sit home or go in with no work, either way I don't get paid.

i was kind of looking forward to a bigger hit in NC. i work in claims for an insurance company and we get paid extra for working the hurricane claims.

Radio says up to 5 million in NJ without power... There are only 8 million in NJ!

And every day I give thanks that I am not one of them.
