How's the Hurricane on the East Coast?

Thanks for the comments on the truck! It's got it's blemishes. The fenders are completely rotten. One of which is packed with bondo (previous owner). Soon it'll get some new metal in there and another fresh coat of paint. I'll be trying to match this color again.

There are at least 30 homes down the road that no one can get to because the boats are parked on the street, the front yards, the back yards, and inside a few houses. We just got both the big forklifts dried up enough and running to start pulling the boats out of the way. The water was about 8 feet above road level.
Ill throw some more pics up when i get some time. Ive been working sun up to curfew (6 oclock curfew. No one in or out of the area. Nonresidents caught there have already been arrested. ) trying to get the equipment running so they can clean up.

Whoa!:shok:

thanks for all your hard work snoranger. my FIL is going to the shore house today to see how bad the damage was. hope he can get onto the island without too many problems

Im going to Florida. Hope everyone stay safe and warm.

Yup, it looks like a real mess. Cleaning and rebuilding will undoubtedly take a lot of work and a long time. It's easy to say that, but those involved in actually doing it certainly are appreciated. My grandmother was able to get in to have a look at her house. Somehow no water got inside. She says the basement got flooded, and the steps leading into it are actually gone. She also said the refrigerator in her garage was broken in half. I imagine the garage itself can't be in great shape. A lot of her neighbors' houses got water inside, so I consider her lucky. The first floor of her house is slightly elevated, which I imagine was the main reason it stayed dry.

That no-good FOX NEWS.....they're going into the bad areas and interviewing the thousands of people who have recieved NO FORM of aid after 5 days.....

According to the White Haus, the Politicians involved, and CNN, the Rescue was going "Wonderfully" until they showed up!

Yup, Its definitely getting dicey.

I was thinking this morning - think this will cause a controversy over voting in NJ? Something along the lines of what happened in '04 with Bush / Gore in Florida?

On another note, I've heard that the gas situation in NY is getting better. Slowly but surely they're getting back to it....

We (company I work for) are working in Bradly Beach, putting the beach back where it belongs. I am busy bailing back all the trees that we get; about 30 loads of brush/tree parts from the town daily and whoever else brings it in. Good news is we should have plenty of work, but at others expense. Kinda sucks but you do what you got to. I have not been able to see what is going on outside of Wall though. At least, not in the light of day recently.

Aid? Haven't seen much. Just locals helping others.

Storm today/tomorrow is going to suck though.

Good luck man. I hope it's not too bad for you. I saw on the news that the snow storm coming will mostly affect us in the western half of the state so I hope it stays that way.
