hows everyones "quarantine" going?

I told the wife after this mornings dump...

I have two days before I start using the bathroom curtains... she is out trying to find some toilet paper right now.

my wife would use that as an excuse to buy more curtains

helpful hint: lace lets the bad stuff through

Really?! I’m pretty sure my wife would murder me and use my body as replacement curtains.

Why would it surprise you that anybody would make a choice to protect themselves?
That was sarcasm. I think a good portion of them just want the time off.

They get to keep the job but come back when this clears up.

I can tell you first hand that there is a mix of reasons why people aren't showing up for work. I have four people in my store that won't work during this. One is just plain fear... one is just lazy and figures they could play the fear card and they assume they will get money from the relief check they expect to get... and the last two are a brother and sister that still live with their parents. Their father is high risk and the parents won't let them work. I have to be sympathetic to all... and I am. Not so much the lazy one... but their day will come... she was already on the chopping block for performance issues. The other three are welcome to come back to work when they feel comfortable.

And you actually know that, or you're just letting your bias dictate your perspective?

Hhmmm... well considering 2 of them told me last week they wish they didn't have to come in and would love to stay at home and play xbox. Also the store owners are running the forklifts to unload trailers now and told me they are gone until it clears up. They also told me it's mostly their younger employees who are doing this. So yeah I actually know this. It's not my "personal bias dictating my perspective"

I do feel the younger set will use any excuse to get out of working. Espicially when they know they are getting free gov't money.

My millennial senses are tingling...
Its not all of you guys.

I truely believe millennials should be divided into two catagories...early and late.

Ive noticed anyone from 29ish up, is pretty decent as far as work ethic goes, it seems the younger you go the more entitled, lazy, and whiney they get.

No offense to anyone. Its just a general observation.

I can't believe the amount of 20 something year olds that jumped ship from the stores I deliver to because they are "afraid" of the virus.

We've had several at work do that. Tide pods, licking toilet seats, stupid things like that but they're afraid of a virus...well maybe they should eat another tide pod and get their asses back to work LOL. That's ok, it gives us that actually need a paycheck more hours.

I remember when the tide pod thing was going on i bought some at the ol dollar general (we use them).

Sat them on the register and with a straight face looked at the lady and was like "these make such conveinant snack"

The look was priceless.
