Howdy from central TX.Jim Kitchen here. Short history.
Built my first car, a chopped and channeled 1934 Ford 3 window coupe in 1954. Many many cars, trucks, bikes, 1 motorhome and 1 boat, I was given my 1 and only Ranger.
Plan was to use some of the 351w parts I had on hand. Then son Jim and I decided to use those parts to build an engine to put in my 86 T-burd to compete in Street Machine Eliminator class
at HRDW 2018. We qualified 15th out of 140 cars in that class.(to watch one of our problems, go to Hot Rod Drag Week 2018, Day 5. Start video at 39 min.)
No engine for the Ranger. Jim offered 1 of his spare brand X 5.3s. Not enough HP.How about twin turbos?Collected parts-too much HP (est. 1000 to 1200) for stock Ranger chassis.
Brite idea #3.Jim puts the turbo bowtie in Burd and I put the 351w and C-4 in the Ranger.Have almost everything I need now, except headers and I will build those.
I think I can get the Ranger to run 11.0s without a power adder,if so I will build a rollbar and add enough nitrous to run 10.s for HRDW 2020.
I am old and slow so this will take a while.
