OK here is the deal. I got an 88 Ford Ranger 2wd. The engine had been replaced or rebuilt before I bought the truck. I do not know if the truck has a 2.0 or 2.3. I know 79% of 88 Ford Rangers came with the 2.3 just do not know how to tell the difference. Can someone please tell me how to figure out which engine I have in my truck?

yep, after '85 or '86 that's the way to tell

Actually the simplest way is look for 2.3 on the intake manifold. Alot of times its molded in. But all 88' were 2.3 liters. if not v-6

Is it slow, or really slow? Seriously, the 2.3s were fuel-injected starting in '85 (first F.I. engine in the Ranger; the 2.9s didn't get it until '86).
