how to remove airbags?

Ok just got a 97 4x4 plan on building a mild 4x4 prerunner and would like to ditch the airbags don't really want one in the face when playing off road. What would be the best way to do this. I am also replacing the core support right now so if I ditch the crash boxes and module inside would that work??

Dont know how to do it properly but when ive done it before i removed the dash and cut the wires then unbolted anything holding it in... Probably not the best way but it worked

I think, but am not sure, that if you pull the fuse they will no longer work. That's how it is on my neon. Wait for a few minutes for electricity to discharge before removing. It also works to disconnect battery and wait a few minutes before working on them.
