how to remoce automatc lock out hubs

I just did my '94 rotors.

After cap is removed there is a C-clip that needs to be removed, then the plastic "auto" engage pieces will slide off.
You will see a slot in the top of the spindle, there is a woodruff type key in that slot, it is small and can be pulled out with a magnet or small screwdriver, BUT, you often have to move the nut it is holding one-way or the other to release the tension on the key.
This key has a top and bottom and front and back, you will see that after it comes out.

There is a special socket for that nut but I used channel lock pliers and they worked fine, this is a wheel bearing nut so not alot of torque to loosen or tighten.
Remove nut once key is out and rotor will come off.

The plastic "auto" piece has a tab that slides into the slot on the spindle after nut is tightened and key installed

I used my old bearings on the new rotors as they looked fine, just repacked them and got new seals for the back side.
Also replace the calipers if rotors are warped, they are not that expensive and sticking caliper is the reason for warped rotor.

rotors warp because of heat.:icon_thumby: which can be caused hard stops from high speed, riding the brake, also a locked up caliper. however replacing calipers can't hurt also recommend changing brake hoses when changing calipers.
