how to put a switch in for my sub

i wanted a way to turn my sub off when my headunit is off even if the truck is on and i dont want the amp to pull when the trucks starting

im not saying dont put a switch in, you want one, you want one. but everything your asking for it does anyway, the rem wire will turn off your amps if you shut the radio off, even if the truck is still on.......and your ign shuts it all off when you go to start your truck. its a build in feature.

Never heard of them. Do you have a wiring diagram you can link?

Yeah I saw that link. Any chance that you can get some pictures of the wiring on the back of he radio?

here some pics the blue wire is the auto ant wire

Well that isn't much for wiring. Check the voltage output from the antenna power wire to see when it is putting out 12v. If it is constant regardless of what mode the unit is on then go ahead and use it otherwise you will need to tap off a power wire and make your own signal wire.

The antenna wire will work. They are all 12v and are all constant. Run that wire to the amp, and be done with it. If you still want to put a switch in, put it on the antenna wire, and you can have both. It will run when the radio is on, and be off when the truck is off. It wont interfear with starting the truck, and if you want the radio on, and need the subs off, flip the switch, and listen to it bassless.

A lot of head units will turn the antenna wire off if you switch to a CD or aux input, since you don't need an antenna to play a CD. If his head unit does that, then the amp will turn off whenever he tries to play a CD.

well the ant wire works great and the sub sounds great thanks for all your input it helped alot now im just looking for some good song with alot of bass:headbang:
