Ok, I bought 28/7.5 4.56 gears (used) and the rear were loose but the front came in a d28 carrier WITH a locker that was purported to be a DETROIT -so far so good, well it was full of sand and the tech could not figure it out so we skipped the locker and installed the gears-they work great but now I have this locker and would like to make use of it,will the mfg name be on it and are these things rebuildable? thanks for any help

I believe the Lock-right is the only D28 locker made. Locking the D28 is a bad idea anyways.

why ,does it start to tear up?

The D28 uses tiny shafts and U-joints and has a poor reputation with the stock open diff and 31" tires or bigger.

Hahn knows his shit.
