Its rusting underneath the trim? Really what I would do is sandblast it the best I can, prime it (2 part, not rattlecan junk), seam seal it, and paint it. If its between the panels you're kinda SOL though. Dang Florida trucks and their rusted out roofs (been there done that).

Got the same cab, same issue, same humid State, but on a '99... awaiting brave/innovative solutions, which hopefully don't involve welding...
PS: Is that flat, 45-degree "trim" piece really a spot-welded add-on, OR... is it actually the roof-and-side sheets rolled together, tucked under, and smashed flat???

Rust in Roof Rain Channels - Fix?
I have rust in the rain channels on both sides of my '07 XLT. I'm expecting to have to take it to a body shop for the fix, and I want to do so ASAP so it doesn't spread. My question is, is this area called the rain channel/gutter? How are they attached? Welded? Seems like a useless part to put...

True that... OTOH, after 22 years, it's not even staining like the OP's so... might have to go superficial and/or rubber-coat... starve it of O2 and moisture...?
ALSO open to exciting Jeep-esque/Bronco/Rat Patrol "option tops" that let in da fresh air... and excite da chixxx! (Belt-fed HMG optional...)
